Albedo One - Authors

We are always looking for thoughtful, well written fiction. Our definition of what constitutes SF, horror and fantasy is extremely broad and we love to see material which pushes at the boundaries.

We will read all short story submissions, but our preferred length is between 2,500 and 8,000 words. Our response time is variable - mostly between two and four months.

We as a rule only accept previously unpublished stories, and we do not accept simultaneous submissions.

All submissions should be typewritten, on A4 paper, double-spaced, using one side of the paper and leaving at least 1" margins all round. Softcopy should be available on request. We do NOT return manuscripts, so disposable mansucripts ONLY please!

Our address:

Albedo One
2 Post Road
Lusk
Co. Dublin
Ireland.

All submissions must be accompanied by an e-mail address, our preferred method of response, or a sae with Irish stamps. NO English stamps, NO American stamps please - the Irish Post Office does NOT accept these. International Reply Coupons are unfortunately also not accepted by the Irish Post Office.

We are also looking for interviews with high profile authors, media personalities and for book reviews.

We strongly suggest that potential contributors be familiar with the style and content before submitting, and we advise ordering a copy or minimally reading a pdf copy before submitting stories.

We consider submissions to be for paper and/or in electronic publication, unless you tell us otherwise (we respect the right of an author to "veto" electronic - or paper - publication, but do need to know in advance).

While we accept e-mail submissions, we do NOT accept submissions in the form of attachments - text in the body of your e-mail only, please!

Mail your e-mail submission to:

All authors receive a complimentary copy of the issue their story appears in. Our payment amounts to 3 euro per 1000 words. We hope to improve our rates gradually in the future, and supporting the magazine is the way to help us do that!

You might also wish to consider entering our new short fiction contest, the Aeon Award, with a grand prize of 1000 euro (thats right, 1000 euro) and publication in Albedo One. Well worth your time entering!

Please submit a sample of your work. We require cover artwork only. Artwork will be commissioned on basis of your initial sample submission. We pay €20 for published artwork, on publication.

Aeon Press - Authors

We are looking for thoughtful, well written novels. Our definition of what constitutes SF, horror and Fantasy is extremely broad and we love to see well-written material with strong characterisation and original ideas pushing at the boundaries of the genre. We have a preference for Irish authors.

Aeon Press is not interested in traditional Fantasy novels re-using stereo-typed Fantasy elements, Celtic or otherwise. We read novels only at this moment in time, no story collections. Our response time is variable - mostly between two and four months.

We only accept previously unpublished manuscripts, and we do not accept simultaneous submissions.
